About

We run the businesses we own

There is a version of this company that sells advice. This is not it.

An owner, not an adviser

J&I Hub is an operating company. It owns consumer brands and runs their online stores itself — choosing the products, writing the pages, buying the traffic, answering the emails and shipping the parcels. Nobody outsources those decisions to us because those decisions were never anybody else's to give.

That distinction sounds small and changes everything. An agency is paid whether the thing works or not. An owner is paid only if it does. We carry the inventory, the ad spend, the refunds and the mistakes, and we would not have it structured any other way: it is the only arrangement in which our judgement and our outcome point in the same direction.

Why a portfolio

Single-brand companies live and die on one bet. A portfolio spreads that risk without diluting the work, because the expensive parts of running a consumer brand — support, logistics, creative, measurement — are the same parts from one brand to the next. Build them once, run them well, and each additional brand costs a fraction of what the first one did.

The customer never sees any of this, which is the intention. Each brand keeps its own name, its own catalogue and its own storefront. The shared operation sits behind them, invisible and identical.

How we decide

We are unsentimental about brands and deliberate about customers. A storefront that cannot pay for its own acquisition gets closed rather than subsidised, and we would rather explain a closed store than defend a bad one. What does not get compromised is the part the customer touches: orders ship, questions get answered, refunds get paid. A portfolio only works if every brand in it is worth buying from.

How we work

The team is distributed and organised by function rather than by brand. The people who handle customer support handle it for the whole portfolio; so do the people who produce creative, manage fulfilment and read the numbers. It keeps standards uniform and means a lesson learned on one storefront is not relearned four more times.
